Dr. Hayes completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he also completed a year each of Hematopathology and Surgical Breast Pathology fellowship training. He is board certified in AP/CP Pathology and Hematopathology. Before joining NeoGenomics in 2022, Dr. Hayes previously worked in private practice for 15 years as a staff Hematopathologist and Surgical pathologist in hospital and outpatient diagnostic settings, including experience overseeing a large multihospital central laboratory. He also served as Head of Hematopathology at a previous position from 2020-2021. Dr. Hayes has strong interests in bone marrow, lymph node, and tissue hematopathology; with expertise in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and FISH interpretation, as well as extensive experience in breast and prostate surgical pathology. He is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and has published peer reviewed articles in scientific journals.
