Disease(s): Cervical neoplasia, ASCUS, LSIL, HSIL, CIN, cervical cancer
Clinical Significance
The NeoSITE Cervical FISH Panel, performed on ThinPrep® or SurePath™ cytology samples, determines copy numbers of five genomic loci that show non-random gains in pre-cancerous and cancerous cervical lesions including ASCUS, LSIL, HSIL, and CIN. This test serves as an adjunct to cytology and HPV nucleic acid analysis to aid diagnosis/classification, prognosis assessment, and monitoring of cervical lesions. In validation studies, this test detected genomic instability typical of high-grade, HPV+ lesions with sensitivity of 88.9% and specificity of 98.0%.
Specimen Requirements
Cervical specimens. Acceptable specimen collection/transport containers are: -ThinPrep® Pap Vial -SurePath™ Pap Vial Do not use APTIMA® Specimen Transfer tubes for ThinPrep® or SurePath™ samples when ordering this test.
Storage and Transportation
Use cold pack for transport if available, making sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen. Specimen must be delivered to NeoGenomics within 21 days of collection.
