IDH1/IDH2 Mutation Analysis by PCR

Detection of mutations at IDH1 codons R132X and R100Q and at IDH2 codons R140X and R172X is performed using real-time PCR. IDH1 and IDH2 are analyzed concurrently. For solid tumors, tumor enrichment is performed before extraction.

Specimen Requirements
Paraffin Block: 1 Block sent with a cold pack. No zinc or mercury fixatives. H&E: 1 unstained slide cut at 4-5 microns required. Bone Marrow Aspirate: 2mL to 3mL in Sodium Heparin. EDTA tube acceptable. Peripheral Blood: 5mL to 6mL in Sodium Heparin Tube. EDTA Tube Acceptable. Cut Slides: 5 to 10 unstained slides cut at 4-5 microns. Positively charged slides in 10% NBF. No zinc or mercury fixatives.
