Dr. Maiese joined NeoGenomics in 2021. Before NeoGenomics, he worked at siParadigm in NJ as a senior hematopathologist and prior to that he was the Medical Director and Director of Hematopathology for AmeriPath Northeast in Shelton, CT. During his nineteen-year tenure at AmeriPath, Dr. Maiese was the Managing Director for the Center for Advanced Diagnostics in Orlando, FL, the National Director of Hematopathology, and a participant in the 2006 Bethesda International Consensus Conference on Flow Cytometric Immunophenotyping of Hematolymphoid Neoplasia. He practiced hematopathology at Cytometry Associates in West Palm Beach, FL and Dianon in Stratford, CT before joining AmeriPath. Prior to reference laboratory hematopathology, Dr. Maiese was an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas and the University of Florida in Gainesville. He completed Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency training at the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, a Surgical Pathology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and a Hematopathology fellowship at University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Maiese earned his M.D. from the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and his B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University. He is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology.
