Gail J. Roboz

Gail J. Roboz, MD is the William S. Paley Professor of medicine and director of the Clinical and Translational Leukemia Program at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Roboz graduated summa cum laude from Yale University and received her medical degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and achieved the highest academic standing in the graduating class. She completed her internship in internal medicine at The Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and residency in internal medicine at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Roboz completed her fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Roboz is an internationally recognized expert in developmental therapeutics and novel clinical trials for acute leukemias, myelodysplastic syndrome, and myeloproliferative disorders. She is the principal investigator on numerous investigator-initiated, cooperative group, and industry-sponsored clinical trials in these areas and has authored many related manuscripts and abstracts. Dr. Roboz serves on the Leukemia Core Committee for the Alliance clinical trials in oncology co-chairs the clinical committee of the European Leukemia Net (ELN) working group on measurable residual disease in acute myeloid leukemia. She also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation. Dr. Roboz has played an active role as a chair, speaker and panelist at many national and international conferences and is the recipient of prestigious honors and awards in the field.
