Dr. Baysal joined NeoGenomics as a Senior Hematopathologist in 2022. Before joining NeoGenomics, Dr. Baysal served as an Associate Professor of Oncology and a Staff Physician (Hematopathology) in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Baysal is the recipient of many research grants including a NIH-funded research grant related to the seminal discovery of a human mitochondrial cancer gene as well as a grant from the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation leading to the discovery of new RNA editing enzymes in immune cells. Dr. Baysal completed his residency in Anatomic Pathology and a hematopathology fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. He also completed a post-graduate research fellowship in Molecular/Quantitative Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Baysal is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology.
